Designing Accessible Handouts and Outcome-Equivalent Assessment in Adult VET (Moodle Implementation)
Microcredentials

This 5-hour micro-credential has been designed for adult VET trainers, instructional designers, and Moodle course authors who produce learning materials and assessments for diverse adult learners. A recurring challenge in adult VET is addressed: handouts and assessments are often created under time pressure and reused without accessibility checks, and barriers are therefore introduced for learners with sensory impairments, dyslexia, low digital confidence, low bandwidth, or reliance on assistive technologies.

Across five connected units, participants are guided through an applied, hands-on pathway. An existing handout is audited against accessibility standards, redesigned into accessibility-compliant outputs, and configured in Moodle for inclusive content delivery. An aligned assessment plan is then developed, in which at least two outcome-equivalent assessment options are produced together with explicit equivalence rules. The course culminates in a capstone submission through which an implementation-ready package is assembled: an accessibility-audited handout, an aligned assessment blueprint, and a documented Moodle configuration supported by a transparent evidence-and-verification approach.

The learning experience has been structured to be practical, reusable, and aligned with institutional quality-assurance needs. Templates, checklists, worked examples, and short demonstration videos are provided throughout, so that every output can be transferred directly into real adult VET practice. Upon successful completion, a certificate and an Open Badge are issued; the credential is anchored on blockchain through a hash-based verification mechanism, while no personal data are stored on-chain.
